What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle and yet very effective form of hands-on healing. The word reiki literally means universal life force or life energy.

As a reiki healer, I have been attuned to the reiki energy that supports the body’s innate healing abilities. During a healing, I call on that energy, and it flows to those parts of the body that need it to facilitate healing.

Reiki complements and enhances the effects of all other types of health care, including orthodox medicine. It is also a very gentle therapy which is suitable for everyone, including the newborn, the elderly and the frail.

What happens during a Reiki Session?

At the start of the session, I will talk to you about how you are, and the reasons that you have come for a treatment. This will help me to know how to focus my treatment.

For the healing itself, you will lie down fully clothed on a healing table. I will begin working at your feet, gently placing my hands first on your feet, legs, and working up through your body and head. I finish by working on your feet again to ground you. I will focus particularly on the areas you identified, or those that I feel intuitively drawn to. The reiki energy will in any case go where it is needed in your body

How Long Does a Session Last?

Reiki sessions in person last for 1 1/2 hours, and by phone or skype 60 minutes.
