Hi again! This week I am going to be writing about another very powerful healing technique, which has some similarities with the inner child healing – past lives regression.
Last week I wrote about how we often carry patterns from the past, which relate to our childhood (see inner child healing blog post.) It can be the case that if we were criticised as a child, we carry a propensity to either be critical of ourselves and others, and to react disproportionately to criticism from others in later life. Regression to that time in childhood can provide healing of these tendencies (I go into this in more detail in the earlier blog post.)
Often, however, we have no idea where the patterns originate from. When people are unable to identify something from their childhood that is causing their issue, or they say something like “Oh! This problem has always been here.” or “I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have this problem.” this is indicative of it being something they came into this life with, and which therefore can be worked on with a past lives regression.
The first question a lot of people ask is of course: “what if I don’t believe in past lives?” or “do I have to believe in past lives in order for this to work?” And the answer is “no” – you don’t have to believe in past lives in order to benefit from this healing. In the end, of course, it cannot be proven that we have had past lives; but there does seem to be something deeply held within the psyche that responds to this type of healing.
The format of the healing session is that the client will talk about their particular problem, which may be a physical or emotional issue. I then set the intention to go back to the time when this first manifested for them (in this life or a previous one.) As I start the hands-on healing session, I lead them in a deep relaxation, and run healing energy until I get to the part of the body where the physical or emotional pain is held. I then invite them to go back to the time when the issue first manifested.
Some people may get a physical sensation in their bodies, others will see things and still others may get a sense of smell. Typically, the “story” of the past life unravels for them in some way or other. After living through the salient points of the lifetime, including the death, the client will have the space to reflect on the learning from the lifetime.
The healing comes from the reflection on the learning from the lifetime, including how it relates to the events of this lifetime, as well as the experience of death, and the profound beauty, simplicity and openness that people tend to experience after the “death” experience. This space, between lives, is a space where profound healing can take place.
For me, and for many of my clients, experiencing this type of healing has led to resolution of deeply held issues which I did not know the source of in this lifetime, as well as giving me some kind of explanation as to why I respond to certain things in certain ways.
